Episode #119: Let’s Celebrate
The “what” is easy. Craftwork is a specialty coffee shop and vibrant membership-based workspace with locations in Fort Worth (Foundry, Camp Bowie, Magnolia) and Austin (Domain). We serve craft coffee and are a connected coworking space. But you knew that already. Our “why” is our heart – we desire to create spaces and places where our members and customers experience connection and community.
Tomorrow (Sept. 29) is International Coffee Day. It’s a day of celebration for us. We’re not celebrating as a sales gimmick (though we do have some fun things happening), but rather to reflect on the “why” behind our company.
Our objective at Craftwork is to be a place where each person feels generously seen. Creating a daily rhythm for our community that affirms personhood and creates a sense of place is what fuels us.
Let’s Celebrate: Our society is growing increasingly apart from each other. Cigna reported that 61% of Americans feel isolated, and recent reports show that people are living alone more than ever before. This epidemic is intimidating, but we believe through steady, faithful work we can help people feel connected and seen.
Coffee consumption is a rhythm of life that has provided a platform for us to enter into this work. Coffee can be appreciated by anyone, whether enjoying it at home with family or sitting in our cafes comparing tasting notes with friends. It has been part of our story since the beginning, and we are so grateful to witness how it connects all of us to each other.
We encourage you to think of a time when you’ve felt the kindness of a stranger or barista within our shops (or others!) or struck up a conversation with someone in our workspace. Those moments are why we’re here, serving coffee, and tomorrow we get to celebrate that.
Please join us, bring a friend, and connect with someone you see in our cafe. Let this celebration inspire action in you and those around you to connect with one another. May we all celebrate and feel the warmth of the Craftwork community.
